It is a keyhole surgery for removal of kidney stones in which instruments with small diameter are used for smaller kidney punctures. Laser, pneumatic and ultrasound devices are used in the process to fragment stones and there is very less bleeding in the process. With highest power Lumenis Power suite Holmium Laser machine, even hard and large stones are fragmented quickly. With less bleeding.With help of Flexible nephroscope & holmium laser even complex or multiple stones can be treated by single puncture.
In this procedure from urethra very small scope is inserted under anesthesia & stone in ureter directly visualized by ureteroscope & fragmented by pneumatic Lithotripsy or Holmium laser & removed without any incision. Because of use of Holmium laser, There is no stone migration back in to kidney. Stone can be dusted in very minute particles any hard ureteric stone can be treated by Holmium laser .Average hospital stay : 12 to 24 hrs. Patient need 1 to 2 days rest & can resume his or her duty. By this procedure most of stone from ureter can be removed. We have performed more then 3000 URS successfully.
Prostatic enlargement is a common problem is old age. By TURP nearly all patient who requires surgery for prostate can be treated successfully without any incision. Under anesthesia per urethral scope is inserted & under vision prostate is resected. Patient requires 2 to 4 days hospitalization & 1 week rest. Usually patient done not requires blood transfusion & patient can tolerate endoscopic surgery very well without risk of incontinence of urine.
Any big bladder stone can be treated by per urethral without any incision. Using cystoscopy, fragmentation of stone by Holmium laser can be done & removal possible in single sitting. Average hospital stay is 24 hrs & patient can resume duty next day. No need of blood transfusion. We have treated as big as 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm big stone in single sitting.
Lithotripsy
We have extracorporeal shock wave Lithotripsy unit on which we have successfully performed ESWL of more then 4000 patients of renal & ureteric stone from 1 to 2.5 cm size in this patients. In this procedure, patient dose not need hospitalization or any anesthesia. Patient done not need any rest & can resume duty same day. ESWL procedure in properly selected patient gives excellent results.
